Pfadt Planning P58 Edition Corvette Stingray
Like some other well-known tuners and performance shops, Pfadt Race Engineering has been itching to get their hands on the new 2014 Corvette Stingray. Pfadt has big plans for the C7 Stingray with a new line of parts and a performance upgrade package they’re calling the Pfadt P58. The package is expected to boost the LT1 from 460 hp to approximately 580 hp.
But before all that can move forward, they first needed to pick up the car.
The Stingray was ordered through Rick Conti at Coughlin Chevrolet. Although it was supposed to be shipped to Utah, anticipation got the best of new owners Aaron and Robbin Pfadt. So last week they bought some plane tickets, flew to Ohio and then drove the Corvette back over the weekend.
The great thing about driving it the 1,800 miles or so back to Utah was that it insured the Corvette had the recommended break-in of reaching 1500 miles before we started seeing the kinds of videos that tuners are want to put out. Like this baseline dyno test that Pfadt did once they got the Stingray back home:
Pfadt’s Corvette Stingray is a bone-stock seven speed manual with the Z51 Performance package. The C7 dynoed at 411 hp and 410 ft-lbs torque to the rear wheels.
The Pfadt P58 Package includes a cold air intake, Try-Y headers, camshaft and an engine calibration to 580 hp. Other options are wheels and brakes, aero upgrades (hood, splitter & rocker panels), a coilover suspension package and tuned exhaust.
In addition to the P58 package, Pfadt will be offer many of the components individually. They told us their C7 headers will begin shipping around the end of next week.
