Mini Corvettes hit the Track to Benefit Kids

There’s nothing like a little Corvette race for a good cause. No pun intended.

This one featured Corvette go-carts battling it out in the parking lot of the National Corvette Museum for the 20th Annual Jr. Achievement’s Mini Corvette Challenge, which this year raised $38,000, according to a WBKO report.

The money from the event, first created in 1995, will be used to help nearly 1,900 students in the South Central Kentucky area.

“With $38,000, we will be able to provide 76 [K through 12] classroom programs to our five-county region,” said Megan Ormon, Junior Achievement of SCKY Program Manager.

The initiative is focused on improving student achievement in areas like financial literacy, business principles, entrepreneurship and future employment skills.

This year’s $38,000 was the most money the event has raised in the past few years, notes WBKO.

Sponsors included Houchens Industries Inc., US Bank, Bowling Green Corvette Assembly, and 100.7 SAM FM.
