When I think about Hennessey Performance, my emotions stir into a concoction of thankful jolliness. The way Hennessey makes cars faster gives me the kind of feeling one would get if it was decided that Thanksgiving and Christmas would be combined, and then celebrated in August, November and December.

The number-one reason Hennessey gets me thankfully jolly is because instead of having to wait for GM to come out with a Z06 or ZR1, we can enjoy C7 Corvette Stingrays tuned to produce between 500 and 1,000 horsepower.

In the video below, we get to see John Heinricy test out the Hennessey HPE600 Corvette. Heinricy is the former Director of the GM Performance Division, as well as an SCCA National Champion Corvette racing driver, so he knows how to wring every ounce of performance out of this naturally aspirated C7’s 600-horsepower at Lonestar Motorsports Park.

We’d love to see this car go up against a Viper on the race track.
