2014 C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Chevrolet delivered 485 Corvette Stingrays last month. Just to gloat a bit, let’s compare that to the 426 SRT Vipers that have been sold all year. On a side note, if you are a Viper fan, stop sitting on your checkbook because there are 565 Vipers sitting on dealer lots across the country right now. Seriously, what are you waiting for? The Corvette needs a friend to accompany it on the streets and racetracks.

Now that last month’s C7 Corvette sales figures have arrived, Chevrolet spokesman Monte Doran has given Autoblog the skinny on the Stingray’s sales trends.

Virtually all early C7 Corvette adopters have owned a Corvette in the past. These eager Corvette loyalists are also generously optioning their Corvette Stingrays, especially with the Z51 Performance Package, which currently has a take rate of 75 percent. Speaking of performance, 38 percent of C7 Corvettes have been built with a seven-speed manual, and among Z51-optioned Corvettes, 57 percent have magnetorheological suspension.

Doran says once the early adopters have their toys, the percentage of Corvettes equipped with the good stuff will taper.
