Corvette Z06 Tears Up the Drag Track
We’re all well aware that the new Corvette Z06 is a thing of wondrous engineering. Between the ballistic way the supercharged LT4 V8 hits 60, or the fact that this is the most capable track Corvette ever, it just boggles belief that this is still a Corvette. Long gone are the days that Corvettes could be mocked for their outdated engineering and lackluster build quality. The new C7 Corvette Z06 can hang with any of the modern supercars coming from Europe.
However, the Corvette is still very much an American icon, and with that it still needs to do very American things. Things such as drag racing. And boy oh boy can it still do that.
MotorTrend timed the new Z06 with the Z07 package in the quarter mile at 11.4 seconds at 124.4mph. But how does their timing relate to the real world and our own Corvette Forum members’ times. Well, it looks like MT can learn a thing or two from at least one forum member: wfarmer.z.
wfarmer.z took his Corvette Z06 to the track and began his quest for ultimate dominance. He did the run first on the stock tires, then switched to something stickier, then borrowed a set of drag radials from a friend. Head over to the thread to check out all his electrifying times.
