43 Corvettes Recalled for Suspension Issue

General Motors has announced a new recall on 43 of the 2015-model-year Corvettes in order to deal with a rear suspension issue.

The affected vehicles include cars built from September 26, 2014 to October 2, 2014, according to an Edmunds.com report. You’ll certainly want to get it fixed if your Corvette happens to be on the list, as the recall issue can affect the car’s stability and steering control.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall summary, “In the affected vehicles, the toe link outer ball joint on the rear suspension may not have been properly tightened during the assembly process. The toe link may loosen with vehicle use and eventually separate. A toe link separation can result in a reduction in vehicle stability and steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.”

So far, there are no reports of the issue causing any accidents or injuries, just some “loud metallic noises, particularly when the vehicle is traveling around corners or over bumps or potholes,” according to a statement from GM.

Of the 43 cars being recalled, 28 are already in the hands of their owners. The remaining are in dealer stock and getting repaired before being sold.
