2014 International CES Gallery: Geeking out with the Corvette Stingray

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at 2014 International CES Home

At this year’s International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, I got to check out a demonstration of the updated features Chevrolet has planned for the Corvette’s infotainment system. For 2015, the Corvette will offer Chevrolet’s new AppShop. Combine this new feature with the PDR plus 4G LTE connectivity, and the 2015 Corvette will be, in essence, a really fast-rolling smartphone.

The AppShop apps featured in the Corvette’s infotainment system aren’t just some Android apps cut from a mobile phone and pasted into the Corvette’s electronic user interface … these are apps specifically re-engineered for automotive use … in other words, they’re designed to combat distracted driving. The AppShop will include about a dozen apps at launch, some of which include a Weather Channel app, Vehicle Health app, and music streaming apps like iHeartRadio and TuneIn.

Check out some the screen shots from the infotainment demonstration I got at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas as well as a full gallery of the Corvette from the CES show floor.
