Throwback Thursday: Blue Devil Corvette VS Blue Angel Fighter Jet

Here’s a Throwback Thursday worthy of saluting: an iconic “Blue Devil” Corvette ZR1 racing a “Blue Angel” F/A-18 Hornet U.S. Navy Fighter Jet.

The video, shown below, was part of a 2009 Motor Trend feature that proves once again, when it comes to iconic Corvettes, the ZR1 ranks right at the top of the list.

Sure, the outcome of any car competing against a fighter jet is pretty much a given. But can you think of any other vehicle from 2009 even worthy of taking on a twin-engine F/A-18 with 32,000 pounds of thrust?

Uh, probably not, which is why so many people have watched the clip. Since first being posted six years ago, the 20-minute video has pulled in over 18-million views, putting it right up there with pop star status when it comes to YouTube hits.

Then again, we are talking about the legendary “Blue Devil.”
