As a pretty funny Hollywood movie once philosophized, “if you ain’t first, you’re last.” But what the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby didn’t portray is that you can’t get to first place without some practice. That’s what events like Quick 30 are for.

Quick 30 is a quarterly drag racing event held at Royal Purple Raceway just outside Houston. It’s private, and the name of the game is the quarter-mile. Though pretty much every type of racing is competitive at its core, Quick 30 is meant to be a relaxed and pressure-free zone for drivers to come and test their cars without having to worry about real structured races. Two lanes will be open for the event, the right for drag radials, and the left for all other cars. Like usual, ET and MPH lights will be on for the racing.

Now, get to work! Register here for the next session, July 23.
