This is certainly one way to take a ride in a C7 convertible. That is, if you don’t mind the additional thrills that come with racing the Corvette in a hill climb, which apparently is a bigger thing than I expected, with both old and new models.
This latest clip of an uphill adventure in a ‘Vette comes courtesy of car fan and reporter, Shmee150, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Shmee rode shotgun with Patrick Hermann at the wheel of a Stingray Convertible. It’s a windy three-minute clip, but well worth the view, especially if you like hearing the sound of a manual C7 revving in the open air.
Although, after watching the video a few more times, I’m not so sure I’d be able to stomach this Corvette drive as a passenger. And I’m certain I wouldn’t have the skills to tackle it as a driver at those kind of speeds, not after seeing the wheeling it takes Hermann, just to keep the C7 on track.
