NCM Bash Answers Few 2017 Corvette Z06 Questions, Speculation Begins

2017 z06

At the National Corvette Museum’s Spring Bash this weekend, very few details were released by the folks within GM, but we did get news of a few cosmetic changes for the 2017 Z06. The confirmed news is that production for the 2017 Z06 starts in September, a few additional colors will be available, some interior things are being added, and the rocker skirt will be standard. When prodded about upgraded parts of a mechanical nature, GM’s Harlan Charles was only able to say, “That’s all I have today.”

On the forums, this has caused speculation to run wild. Most Corvette Forum members assume that a bump in power will come about in some way. Some suggest it may see a modest increase, others say it might go as far as stealing the Hellcat’s 707-horsepower title. Others are also suggesting that the car’s cooling system will see upgrades (and that’s not just talking about the radiator, as there’s a ton of stuff that needs active cooling).

Perhaps we weren’t given more information because the main focus was the Grand Sport, primarily that it will start at $66,445 for coupes and $70,445 for drop-tops. Or maybe GM is still deciding exactly what will go into the production 2017 Z06. Stay tuned for more news as we find out!
