If you’re anything like me, there are a few things that you may not trust yourself to take care of on your Corvette. But that doesn’t mean that you and I couldn’t do it with the right guidance. Of course, that’s what Corvette Forum is here for. And what’s one of the things that you could be doing that you’ve likely paid someone else to do? Changing the brake fluid. It’s easier to tackle than you’d imagine.

This week’s How-To Tuesday article goes through the step-by-step process involved in changing the brake fluid on your C6 or C7 Corvette. Before this week’s article, I would have told you that this process is something that you may consider leaving to the professionals. But now it really doesn’t seem quite as daunting as I had previously expected. I won’t sit here and tell you that you are going to become instantly ASE Certified after reading the article, but I can say that you may end up like me, and say that this could be do-able.

What’s it going to take for you to tackle this project? Well, for starters, you may need an extra set of hands for a step or two (there are seven steps in the article). In the end, there is the potential for a fairly considerable cost savings to you as well. Having this done in a professional shop would likely run you several hundred dollars, doing it yourself is going to set you back around $20 bucks and your time, give or take. The cost savings alone makes it worth it for a lot of people.

If you’ve taken on this project on your own, what’s a trick of the trade that you can pass along to those of us who have not yet given this project a shot?
