How to Cope With Corvette C7 Z06 Brake Squeal
How do you cope with Z06 brake squeal? Step one: get over it. OK, that’s a bit harsh, but simply put, squealing at lower speeds, or when coming to a stop, is a tendency of high-performance brake pads. Take it as a mark of confidence that your stoppers are there for you when you need them, and that you’ll be able to go out and handle track-day duties without turning into a piece of old charcoal. There’s aftermarket pads and techniques that can solve this, of course, but they tend to be more prone to overheating, which can lead to all sorts of nastiness.
Perhaps it can be adopted with the mindset that despite all the improvements over the C6, the C7 Z06 is still imperfect. It’s almost like the Corvette C7 Z06 has such impressive presence and performance that it doesn’t need to win any more admirers. If you’re not up to taking it as a whole, with all of its flaws and character, then there’s plenty of other cars out there. For me, I’d happily deal with a bit of noise from the brakes.
