‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Takes a Shot at Reckless Corvette Driving

Is this a case of art imitating life, or some random Hollywood fluke? Given all the discussions we’ve been having here recently about Corvette crashes, it certainly is ironic to say the least. In a sneak peek for an upcoming episode of the hit ABC TV show Grey’s Anatomy, things take a terrible turn when Dr. Derek Shepherd (played by actor and racing driver Patrick Dempsey) encounters an aggressive C6 Z06 driver on the road while driving his Porsche Cayenne.

The clip is an eerie reminder of many of the fatal accidents we’ve covered here at Corvette Forum that have sparked discussions over whether there might be a need for some type of prerequisite course before taking ownership of a Corvette.

Even more interesting for fans of the show is the recent talk that Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes, might be considering axing Dempsey from Grey’s Anatomy due to his “diva”-like behavior, which makes one wonder if there could be something bigger at play in the tease where a Corvette takes center stage.

Either way, it’s an interesting bit of food for thought for Grey’s Anatomy fans and Corvette enthusiasts alike.
