Every Kid’s Dream: Take a Corvette Z06 to Prom

One of our forum members made a dream come true for his 18-year-old grandson recently.

Think about this: you’re 18, you’ve got a nice lady to take to prom, and you don’t want to take her in your mother’s minivan. But your granddad has a C7 Z06… It’s a stretch, but you ask him anyway. Well, the answer was yes, after much internal deliberation, and helped along by good grades and good behavior. Then the big night came, and Grandpa nervously awaited the return of his Z06. And when prom was over, he found that everything went perfectly.

This kind of generosity by our forum members, and by Corvette owners in general, is always awesome to see. Grandpa could have been overly protective, and I’m sure his grandson would understand, but a Corvette is about making memories. Stories like this always provide further proof that stuck-up attitudes are rarely found in our community. Can’t always say that about other sportscar brands!

If you recall, we made an all-points-bulletin for another young lad who was in a similar situation to the young man above, alas lacking the all-important Corvette-owning grandpa. He didn’t end up getting that Z06 for prom, but the kid was given an ample amount of generous advice.
