Electric Corvette’s World Record Speed Run Captured in Doc
Every world record is deserving of a short documentary – especially when it involves an all-electric Corvette blasting down a runway at 186.8 mph hour.
In fact, I imagine some would argue that the Genovation Corvette GXE’s record-breaking run, covered in depth here, is worthy of a full-length doc. And I sincerely doubt you’d get many here contesting the idea, considering how big of an event it was for Corvette fans.
The short doc, posted below, is a roughly four-minute look at what it took to pull off the record-breaking run at the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The clip includes interviews with Genovation’s founder, the engineers, and the driver who were heavily involved in the build-out and technology for the Corvette GXE’s record-breaking top speed.
But it’s the 2:28 mark in the video that captures the most monumental part of the run. Check it out, then let us know what you think!
