Corvette Seller’s Remorse

Life happens. You might go through a change of pace financially, or even maritally, and the consequences wind up being the loss of a Corvette. Letting go of a car is not the same as letting go of any other object. Yeah, if you lose your first *NSync CD you’re a little bummed (or not at all), but when it comes to a Corvette, you’re a lot more affected. Unlike other objects, a Corvette can resemble a sort of existentialism, a definite meaning of you, and parting with one can give you a deep pang of regret. Even if you buy another, you’ll never really get the same one back.

This very subject is in a thread about Corvettes and depreciation. It’s a story a lot of us know all too well. It makes us watch Barrett-Jackson auctions teary eyed (“If I had only held on to that car a few more decades”). Money aside, the remorse can come from fond memories. The C2 pictured above was purchased new by forum user CRABBYJ for the whopping price of $4,050…and eventually sold.
