Another Report of a Corvette C7 Z06 Overheating
Well, here we go again, folks. Yup, another report of a Corvette C7 Z06 overheating on the track.
Is it me, or is this all starting to sound like some broken record, which Chevy higher-ups are just trying to talk their way out of as opposed to getting the darn thing fixed?
One of the latest complaints comes from Michael Pettiford of Go4It Services, as reported by TFL car. Pettiford stated: “I took a 2015 Corvette Z06 coupe with the 8-speed automatic for a fast lap around the Pueblo racetrack. The coolant temperature went from around 220F to 260F after one lap and I had to bring the car back in.”
Pettiford also said that his failed track run happened during the early morning, when the ambient temperature was around 80F, slightly under that 86F temperature that Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter has said is the “design performance” mark for the Z06.
Sure, with all the new Corvette Z06s on the road, the number of reports about the cars overheating is pretty minuscule, by comparison. But it’ still pretty damaging to the image of a car touted as the most track capable Corvette ever.
