This Corvette Engine Build Is Your Daily Eye Candy

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the eye candy of pre-assembly. It’s the only time when all of an engine’s innards are on full display. As an engine is being built, some of the good-looking parts sadly get buried under larger, equally good-looking parts. Forum member TTBlueZ06 is showcasing this process right now, with a twin turbo LSX build. When the overall number of horses starts with a 1, you know that there’s some seriously good parts being used. MAST cylinder heads, Huron twin turbo kit and a pair of Precision turbos confirm this.

Well-engineered performance parts are one of several treasures for every car guy’s imagination. Long before they are torqued down correctly, oiled up, and fed an atomized combustible, we can already hear what the engine will sound like. Gravitational forces from the business-end of a tachometer can already be felt. Roads less traveled are already being plotted for that new part’s first christening. We can even imagine a significant other not bemoaning the garage space occupied by an engine stand. All of this from a cylinder head, which is still wrapped in cellophane.
