Unleash Your Beast on the No Fly Zone Airstrip
Do you have the need for speed? Or simply want to know how fast your car can go without getting pulled over? If you answered “yes” to either of those questions, then we highly suggest you hit up No Fly Zone California for some half-mile side-by-side roll/drag racing.
It all goes down April 1 (no foolin’) from 9am to 5pm at Minter Field in Shafter, California. Omega Motorsports invites everyone to come on out for what should be a lovely Saturday of non-stop airstrip racing.
Race Your Corvette All Day Long!
There won’t be any run groups, so you’ll be able to run anyone, anytime, all day long, as much as you want. Speed trap equipment will be installed on both lanes, so you’ll be able to get accurate results during your runs. Run what you brung! Cars, trucks, SUVs, your mom’s minivan… BRING IT! Even Motorcycles are welcome.
No Car? No Problem
If you don’t plan on racing, come be a spectator. You can also check out the competitors’ vehicles along the pits. The parking area will eventually turn into a car meet, so feel free to roam about and mingle with your fellow car enthusiasts. Food vendors will be on site, so no need to pack your lunch. Car clubs and local shops will be attending the event, too. Be sure to charge your phone or bring your camera, because you’ll want to capture all the action.
If you’re planning on racing, registration is $200 per vehicle, pre-paid before the day of the event. Limited spaces are available, so get on it. If you’re just spectating, it’ll be $10 per person at the gate. This is a rain-or-shine event, so the battle on the tarmac is going down no matter what. Registration fees are non-refundable, FYI.
For any questions or more info on the event, check out No Fly Zone California.
