Man Steals Red C3 Corvette in Broad Daylight, Gets Quickly Caught
You can’t get much more daft than this. Last Tuesday in Calgary, around 5 p.m. (aka broad daylight), a truck with a car hauler in-tow drove up to a house. The driver of the truck broke into the house, stole cash and a gun, then loaded up a red 1976 Corvette on the trailer and drove away.
The act didn’t go un-noticed though, as a witness watched the whole thing unfold and alerted local police. Luckily for the Corvette owner, the car and truck didn’t get very far. A red Corvette being towed is pretty easy to find, and the thief only made it an hour before getting caught. I guess the old nickname of “arrest me” red has finally come to fruition.
The 46-year-old man was charged with property crimes, vehicle theft, and theft of the other items taken from the home break-in. Corvette Blogger doesn’t mention if this guy has had run-ins with the law before, but its fair to say he’s made a pretty poor criminal so far, if this was his first attempt.
