Joyriding Mom Who Put Kids in Corvette’s Trunk Gets Prison Time
Remember this summer when that Pennsylvania mom stuck her two kids in the trunk of a friend’s Corvette for a joyride?
Well, for her selfish act, a judge has stuck her in a pretty tight space of her own, better known as jail.
According to a local ABC affiliate, Jessica M. Reger, of Hanover, Pennsylvania was recently sentenced from 6 – 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She, however, seems to have avoided a second count of child endangerment and two counts of reckless endangerment after those charges were withdrawn.
The 29-year-old Reger was first arrested after someone saw the children riding in the trunk of the Corvette and called police. An officer later caught up to the car and found the three and five-year-old in the trunk. The driver of the Corvette, Ilena Blackburn, pleaded guilty to a count of reckless endangerment and improper child restraints, earning herself a 14-month probation sentence for her involvement in the ordeal.
