At the Firehouse? Seriously? Let’s Find the Criminals Responsible for This

The visual of seeing any Corvette sitting on bricks is upsetting, to say the least.

But the fact that this happened to a firefighter at their place of work is something far more disturbing.

Yep, that’s right. Someone had the audacity to steal the tires off a Corvette parked at a firehouse. And they were likely fully aware that the car was owned by someone who spends their days protecting and serving the community.

According to a FOX 47 News report, the entire ordeal happened at a fire station in Memphis, Tennessee. The incident has since gone viral on Facebook, with the image above already being shared nearly 1,500 times.

Needless to say, the theft has sparked some pretty uneasy emotions in the community where the firehouse is located. Memphis Fire Fighters Association Local 1784, which initially posted the pic, probably summed it up best, though: “It’s sad when a firefighter protecting the community can’t park their vehicle at the station without having this happen.”

Even more disturbing, some of the comments suggest that firehouses around the country are routinely targeted by vandals and thieves. Of course, we have no way of actually verifying the accounts. But if this is indeed a trend, it’s a pretty sad state of affairs, whether it’s happens to a Corvette or a Honda Civic.

As far as the recent incident in Memphis, police are currently investigating the matter and looking for tips. Here’s hoping they catch the culprits and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
