Corvettes Visit America's Best Landmarks

Icons of America’s past and present are attractions for Corvette owners from sea to shining sea.

Before the first mile is covered in any road trip, landmarks are usually planned around. You can’t go through St. Louis without seeing the arch, or seeing the “Ribbon Road” section of historic Route 66 in Miami, Oklahoma.

Corvette Forum members have started a thread based on historical landmarks, with quite a few centered around the historical route. Understandably, the historic U.S. highway was home to many cultural movements, both in pop culture and for those headed out west during the dust bowl.

Landmarks which have the most appeal are a reminder of when things were a bit simpler, before interstate highways were developed. Gas stations, hotels, and restaurants are all a bit magnetic when it comes to our attention. And so we pose our Corvettes in front of them.

Below you’ll see but a few examples of an ever-growing thread, which includes far more than what you’ll find along one stretch of road. Older gas stations in Minnesota are part of the Americana overload, as well as the high mountains of California.

If you’ve visited a classic American landmark with your C7 Corvette, we want to see the pictures!
