Celebrating Corvettes That Aren’t Shy of a Little Mileage
It’d be a shame to have a Corvette and stow it away. That’s why we like the ones with mileage.
From the time that the very first Corvette rolled off the production line, 65 years ago, GM designers, engineers, and assembly workers have been pouring their enthusiasm and love into the car. They’ve made it to be used, to be driven, and taken on trips.
A post highlighting owners who regularly spend time in the driver’s seat lives happily in Corvette Forum‘s C3 section, but really, this celebration applies to all generations, especially the newer ones.
Be it a chrome or painted bumper, many C3 owners in particular are ready to click over the odometer with excitement. Landmark American locations such as Route 66 are as popular as ever, and so is the drag strip.

“Driver’s cars,” as we like to call them, are the Corvettes that aren’t quite at museum quality, but that’s what makes adding mileage so appealing. The first little scratch in the paint is already there, the leather on the seats might have a few more creases than when it was new, but the memories created make it all worthwhile.
Even the restored cars are driven. As one member states: “I didn’t stick $25,000 into a car to let it sit for the next guy who buys it!”
