It’s the end of the dyno curse as Kyle’s C5 lays down some real numbers.

Setbacks are a regular occurrence in life, and you could say that’s been the case with Kyle’s Unicorn C5 build. It’s taken a while to get things put together, and when they are, things either break or need to be changed. But that’s all in the past now. The white C5 Z06 has taken its maiden voyage, and it’s ready for the dyno.

Taking the car out for the first time in months, Kyle isn’t allowed to use it to its full potential as things still need a few miles to break in. But that doesn’t stop him from having fun even at partial boost. Tires stand no chance against dips in the throttle as rolling burnouts are far too easy. And to top off any maiden voyage, a little bit of late-night street action is included.

For all the work done to the car, getting real numbers is the most daunting part. Everything is proven on the dyno, however, and we know Kyle was shooting for that 1,000 horsepower mark. Worryingly, the first few runs weren’t without flaw. A miss-fire was detected in one of the runs, and then an issue with a spark plug wire meant a replacement had to be bought. But after those remedies, the Unicorn C5 put down its biggest number to date, only weeks before the now infamous showdown with Cleetus McFarland is set to take place. How much power was made that day? Well, you’ll need to watch the video to find out.
