Would Super High Mileage Scare You Away From A Killer Z06 Deal?

The mileage isn’t stated, but the price implies a few extra clicks of the odometer.

We’ve known for a while now that the C5 in its various forms offers the very best performance value for the dollar. It doesn’t take long to find a coupe, FRC, or even a Z06 for dirt cheap. But at $10,500, this Z06 takes home the prize.

We know what your first thought would be: it must be an error, or maybe the car even has a rebuilt or salvage title. But from everything we have seen, this car’s history is squeaky clean. The only thing we can come up with to justify the price is insanely high mileage. That might not be as bad as you think, however.

The car seems to be well-documented, with “many service records” and a “clean title” and “Smog in hand” meaning you won’t be seeing many engine issues. As a bonus, it’s also completely stock, so there’s a pretty good chance this car was admired for being a Z06, and not regularly abused. Pictures supplied show a clean interior and straight bodywork, too. So, that further points to a high mileage car.

But does high mileage really matter? Lets say the car has over 1/4 million miles. Clearly it had to be well cared for to get to that mileage, and aside from other age-related replacement parts, these motors are reliable enough to click off a few 100,000 more. Don’t forget, one of our regular forum contributors has a Callaway tuned C5 with over 230,000 miles, and has no qualms of driving it across country on a regular basis.

At that price, we can’t imagine this C5 Z06 staying for sale for too long, because someone will be smart enough to scoop it up and enjoy it.
