Turbo ‘Whistles’ on a Built Twin-Turbo Engine Are Hilarious

We heard you like turbos, so we put some turbo whistles in your turbos.

Cleetus is now well-known to our forum members with his antics involving Leroy the C5. But if you recall, Cleetus’ first caught attention for trying to cram turbo whistles into a Corvette’s exhaust.

Most of that work was in vain, but needless to say it was funny taking turbo whistles and trying to verify just how bogus they actually are.

Now that Cleetus has a very turbocharged drag car though, he thought he’d try it again. This time with a twist. Would the turbo whistles actually be louder than his “two turbskis?” Well, to find out they spent entirely too much money on whistles and decided to cram them in the 3-inch exhaust outlets for the turbos on the C5. What will happen when they add some boost via 2-step?

Well as it turns out, not much. Turbo whistles are not louder than actual turbos themselves, which you could have probably guessed from the very start. There’s the most minuscule difference, but Leroy is just too much of a badass to be out-shined by some cheap gimmick.

But that’s the point of this video. Even though this C5 was built as a very serious drag car, sometimes you have to take a break, have a little fun, and crack some laughs.
