This high-performance version is impossibly clean, impossibly teal, and unmistakably Corvette.
Sometimes, it can be frustrating seeing the car of your dreams being neglected and abused by a careless owner. Thankfully, this C4 Corvette ZR-1 suffers none of that neglect.
The Lotus-developed, Mercury Marine-built quad-cam LT5 V8 needs no introduction here on Corvette Forum. For the early 1990s, this engine represents space-age stuff and its 375 horsepower output would make respectable power even today.
Listed on BringATrailer, this almost impossibly clean ZR-1 comes pretty close to our childhood dream car, ’90s-tastic teal hue and all. This Corvette led a pampered life and shows a scant 30k miles for its quarter century of existence, according to its substantial ownership history.
While this Corvette has been modified a bit, the modifications are tastefully curated. All original parts have been retained and are included, should the next owner choose to return the car to stock. We wouldn’t, personally.
Modifications include an ECU tune, B&B stainless steel exhaust, and a Hurst short-throw shifter. Those subtly refine and improve the driving experience without dramatically impacting the car’s character.
The car’s maintenance records are impeccable, with tons of recent service carried out. New injectors, seals, spark plugs, and coil packs were recently installed. The retractable headlight housings also received new rotator gears. The maintenance includes recent replacement of all fluids, as well.
The interior and exterior of the car show very little wear with a few minor touch-ups to the largely original teal paint. The interior presents very well with minor wear showing on the driver’s seat. From the photos, it doesn’t look bad enough to bother us. We’d certainly less guilty about putting more miles on this rare beast, though. Apparently,y the previous two owners are only responsible for 1,000 of the 30,000 miles on the odometer.
