Man Claims He Was Forced to Steal Corvette

Twenty-two-year-old says he was forced to hotwire car at gunpoint.

Just when you thought you’d heard it all, something else throws you for a loop. In this case, it’s a guy in Louisville, Kentucky who claims he was forced to steal a Corvette at gunpoint. Yep, you read that right.

According to The Drive, 22-year-old Richard Goodman claims the only reason he hot-wired a Corvette and attempted to take the car was because someone threatened to shoot him.

And as far as we can tell, it doesn’t appear that Goodman could explain why he tried to run over the owner of the Corvette who came outside and caught him trying to steal the car. The scenario led to the owner being tossed off the Corvette’s hood when Goodman tried to escape.

Of course, the truth is that nobody (including the police) actually believe Goodman’s story about him being forced to steal the Corvette at gunpoint. Neither do authorities buy Goodman’s claims that the meth found in his pocket when he was apprehended was already in the Corvette when he stole the car.

In fact, investigators looked deeper into Goodman’s claims and found no evidence that anyone else was involved in the theft. He now faces charges for robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and fleeing police.
