Eadon Green Zeclat: Wildest Coach-Built Corvette Ever?

The Zelcat looks like the love child of a Morgan and a Bentley Continental GT. But it performs like a proper sports car!

The world of coach-built cars has always been full of wild and zany creations. From the elegant aero cars of the ’30s to the downright weird Pontiac Fiero hack jobs of the ’80s, coach cars allow designers to watch their artistic dreams come to life with a proven chassis and drivetrain. But lest you think the coach car is dead, let us introduce you to the Eadon Green Zeclat – a curvy grand tourer based on the C7 Corvette.

Sure, this thing looks like the love child of a Morgan and Bentley Continental GT. But it’s not your average bloated road car. In fact, performance is every bit a priority as styling here. The Zeclat shares its 6.2-liter V8 with the Corvette, producing a slightly better 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Eadon Green claims that it’ll do 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds, too.

Even with the all-new bodywork, the Zeclat enjoys perfect 50/50 weight distribution. No word on exactly what this thing weighs, but we’re guessing it’s pretty darn light thanks to the aluminum frame and carbon-nano-composite under-body panels. The Zelcat is available with two transmissions – an 8-speed paddle-shifted automatic, and a 7-speed manual with Active Rev Match.

Big ol’ 14.6”/14.4″ Brembo brakes come standard. Wheel choices are limited only by your imagination, as Eadon Green can design and build whatever you’d like. But they’re all wrapped in sticky Michelin Super Sport run-flat summer tires. And to further push the Zeclat as a driving machine, Eadon Green even outfits each example with a data recorder so you can record and share your best lap times.

And thus lies the rub. Unlike many coach-built cars of the past, the Zeclat is designed to perform like a real sports car. This isn’t just some fancy body tacked on a frame haphazardly, it’s a real engineered piece of fine machinery. And we’re guessing there’s at least a handful of people out there who’ll fall in love with it!
