Formula Drift Atlanta is happening this weekend, but practice begins now.
Formula Drift makes it’s annual return to the venerated Road Atlanta road course this weekend. While the main show is going down on Saturday, practice and qualifying runs have already begun, as has the carnage!
Pro2 drivers, the Formula Drift main show hopefuls, are running at the time of this writing. We have counted some truly wacky cars, most of which have small block Chevy power.
Sadly, fan favorite Matt Field suffered a large crash in testing with his gorgeous C6 Corvette pro car. Field and his team say that although he is bruised up and the car is smashed, that they will still be throwing down come Saturday. Godspeed to Field and his team as they repair the C6.
Field wasn’t the only one putting their vehicle into the wall. Road Atlanta, with it’s very high speeds and massive sweeping bends, takes no prisoners. Hop in the livestream above and watch alongside the Corvette Forum office as the madness continues to unfold.
