Carl’s Jr. 1975 Corvette Looks Delicious

This one-off, custom 1975 Corvette Coupe is a helping of beefed-up America between two buns … with fries on the side.

Carl’s Jr. is famous for bringing the eye candy to its advertising. But forget Jenny McCarthy, Charlotte McKinney, Paris Hilton and Kate Upton. Instead, enjoy the long curves on this specially commissioned Carl’s Jr. 1975 Corvette Coupe. We spotted it for sale on ClassicCars.com, but we remember it from an episode of Counting Cars last year.

The fast-food chain wanted a one-of-a-kind special to celebrate its 75th anniversary. For the commission, they chose Count’s Kustoms, and gave them full creative control and a super-sized budget. Count’s Kustoms proprietor Danny Koker deliberately avoided turning the 1975 Corvette Coupe into a billboard for the company. Instead, he decided this Stingray needed to be in sync with the Carl’s Jr. brand while standing on its own as a wicked ride, too.

The end result is something special to behold. The flip-up headlights were switched out for the racecar-inspired quad setup with plexiglass covers as well as flared arches to allow for a wider stance. They stuck to the theme with the mid-1970’s-style Can-Am graphics, and a huge hood scoop. However, despite being inspired by a company that sells burgers, we don’t think it’s too cheesy.

1975 was just after both the first fuel crises and stock market crash. As a result, the base model Stingray was marketed as a more energy-efficient car than previous models. More energy efficient meant around only 165 horsepower. The 1975 Stingray was still far from embarrassing off the line, but more horsepower is always better for a racing-inspired build. To get it to a meaty 525 ponies, the 383 small block stroker sports a full roller rocker setup with an air-gap intake and quad carbs. Do you really need fries with that?
