Between doubt and hope, it seems that some forum members doubt a new ZR1 actually exists.
A curious thing is happening on our forums regarding the upcoming ZR1 model. During a recent Autoblog live video of a Nissan pickup, at about the 6:30 mark, what appeared to be a camouflaged, drop-top ZR1 prototype appeared and drove right past the crew in the truck.

Being that their location was along Woodward Avenue in Detroit, it’s entirely plausible that the ZR1 was testing the real-world comforts of driving with the top down. But curiously, some folks on our very own forum are thinking it might just be a revised Z06 instead of the long-rumored ZR1 convertible.
With valid points, those saying it is a ZR1 point out that the Z06 employs the use of three different aero packages, each with an escalating level of aggression. Those saying it’s not a ZR1 also have valid points. The last ZR1 came only in coupe form, and it would make sense for GM’s halo performance car to stick with a purist design.

Still, others point out that Ferrari has a 458 Speciale Aperta, and McLaren had the 675 LT Spider, so it’s possible that GM could cater a ZR1 convertible to a niche crowd.
We want to know what you think. Does this video show an updated Z06, or a ZR1 with the top down?
