C2 Corvette

Why empty out your retirement fund for a spotless big block C2 Corvette when you can score a nice driver?

For many fans of the Corvette, nothing beats a ’67 big block car. The mere sight of that iconic stinger hood still strikes fear into those who know what lies underneath, even today. But that popularity and notoriety also harbors demand. And demand has driven prices of original big block C2 Corvette examples into the stratosphere. This particular ’67, which we spotted on Craigslist recently, is no exception, given its just shy of $70k price tag. But it’s also a pretty cool car with some desirable options.

If nothing else, it certainly has a nice drivetrain combo. It might not be the king of the hill, but the 390 hp 427 ain’t no slouch, either. And with the M20 4-speed manual behind it, these things are also quite a hoot to drive. But this ’67 also comes with a pair of nice factory options, including the ever-welcome (at least for us older folks) air conditioning and power steering.

C2 Corvette

Aside from that, this C2 Corvette is described as being in “driver” condition. Which is exactly how we like our old ‘Vettes. Because who wants to risk scratching a concours-level resto job? This one’s had one repaint, with a little bit of surface rust underneath. With decent chrome and an intact but faded interior, there’s nothing offense to see here. Sure, the engine bay’s got some visible wear, but we’re kinda digging it.

Not too shabby for a mostly original and untouched car. Plus, it reportedly runs and drive nice and everything works, though the A/C needs a tune up. With 82k miles showing on the odometer, we can’t think of a better candidate for a weekend cruiser. And it’s probably one of the few big block C2 Corvettes left that you wouldn’t mind driving on a semi-regular basis!
