2019 Corvette ZR1 Owners Get Free Two Day Track School

ZR1 Owner's School

Chevrolet has teamed up with Ron Fellows Performance Driving School to train Corvette ZR1 owners.

Earlier this week, the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada announced their new Corvette ZR1 Owner’s School. This high performance program is free to those folks who buy the 755-horsepower Chevy supercar and in addition to the driving school tuition, lodging and food are included in this package.

Learning the ZR1

The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the quickest, fastest and most powerful road car ever offered by any General Motors brand. The LT5-powered Vette is also the most track-capable American supercar ever, having already set a few lap records at road courses around the country. However, extracting that world-class performance from the new Chevy supercar takes skill that not all buyers possess.

To address that issue, Chevrolet is teaming up with the well-known Ron Fellows Performance Driving School to train buyers how to operate the new Corvette ZR1.

ZR1 Owner’s School

The ZR1 Owner’s School at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School includes two days at the track, starting with classroom sessions and electronic vehicle controls demonstrations followed by dynamic car control exercises and multiple on-track lapping sessions. Tuition is completely free for those folks who have purchased a new ZR1 and in addition to the track time, the “free package” includes a one-night stay at Spring Mountain’s plush on-site condos, with breakfast and lunch prepared by the resort’s executive chef. Buyers can even bring a friend, although the “plus one” likely doesn’t get to participate in track time or classroom sessions.

In short, new ZR1 buyers only need to cover the cost of getting to Nevada and the rest of the program is included. It should be noted that the free program only applies to retail buyers of brand new cars and the track school must be attended within a year of purchase of the car.

Good for Chevy and Owners

This is an awesome program for owners, as it is free track training, but more importantly, they are trained specifically how to handle the same car that they will be driving on the street. If nothing else, this program gives ZR1 owners a chance to experience the track abilities of the car in a safe place and under the close watch of instructors.

As for the automaker, teaching drivers how to handle the 755-horsepower supercar is a benefit when people start talking on social media about well-driven Corvette ZR1s turning record laps rather than crashing into crowds when leaving Cars and Coffee.
