We can’t imagine a better way to spend the summer than in Hawaii with this beautiful classic Corvette.

It may be summertime, but this BringATrailer auction has us dreaming about even warmer temperatures. That’s because this beautiful silver 1965 Corvette convertible currently resides in Hawaii.

The seller’s father bought this Corvette from its original owner back in 1980, and he bought it from his father in 2013. Originally, the car was equipped with a 327 cubic inch V8 and a 4-speed manual transmission. In 2012, the original engine was replaced with a 350 cubic inch engine with an Edelbrock intake, a Holley carburetor, and an MSD ignition.

The beautiful silver paint job was completed in 2014, after the second owner’s son became the custodian of this classic Corvette. The paint job was completed by Chuck’s Corvette Clinic in Honolulu, and from the photos, the work appears to be of high quality.

Inside, the original black interior was reupholstered in silver to match the exterior. While the matching silver hardtop is present in all of the photos, the car reportedly comes with a white convertible top.

Other interior details include a wood-rimmed steering wheel and the original AM/FM Delco radio, which is mounted vertically. Unfortunately, the radio currently does not work properly.

While the radio may not be working as it should, the headlights operate fine, and all of the gauges seem to be functional. The odometer shows 64,000 miles total, but the auction notes that “true mileage is unknown.” That could be a concern to a collector, but considering that this car lacks its original engine and went through an interior color change, we doubt that the buyer will care that much.

The lack of tunes didn’t seem to bother the current owner, who reportedly drove the car over 25,000 miles in the past five years. Cars are meant to be driven, and we’re glad that the owner truly enjoyed their car before deciding to move on. If we had a classic Corvette like this in the garage, we’d take every opportunity we could to drive it, too.

If we had the cash, we’d try to win the auction, take a trip to Hawaii, and do some island hopping before shipping it back home. Oh well, dreaming is free, right?
