Amidst rumors of a Corvette SUV, we think this C7 Vette kart is a way better idea for the path less traveled.
By now most of us have seen Leroy the C5 Vette Kart. The open and exposed cockpit machine has captured our attention like no other, simply because of its uniqueness, but also because of its achievements. Those achievements took place on the drag strip, but what if an off-road trail was more your style? Well, we present to you the C7 Corvette MadMax style Vette kart.
An Instagrammer who goes by MadMaxC7 built and documented this creation. Starting with a wrecked C7, the transformation begins.
The doors are now off, an exo-skeleton cage has been assembled, and the rear arches are now larger to accommodate big chunky off-road tires. The roof, so far, has stayed on the car and pretty much everything from the b-pillar back is still present. Under the hood, things look fairly tame there as well, and as far as we can tell, there are no over-the-top and outlandish exhaust mods.
Then again, this is just the beginning of a build. If someone is outlandish enough to do this to a wrecked C7, we can only imagine wit will be a matter of time till a power adder will be installed. Will they continue the MadMax theme and slap on a high-rise intake? Or continue to upset the Corvette loyalists and put a huge rear wing on it? Or take any more skin off the back half of the car? We don’t know the answer to these questions yet. It makes us interested in seeing how the rest of this project will come together.

We know, this Corvette isn’t for everyone. There’s a very good reason why we like it, though. The rumor mill has been busy with hints at Corvette possibly becoming its own brand, and eventually producing an SUV. A Corvette SUV?!?… We thought it was silly enough that companies like Lamborghini decided to make an SUV, but we really don’t need the Corvette nameplate on a vehicle like that. No matter what the accountants say. This is why we are OK with this build. Just a favor to ask of anyone ordering a mid-engined C8; if you’re planning on turning it into a Vette kart, let us have enough time to enjoy it before tearing the thing apart.
