Lingenfelter adds a built, supercharged engine and a custom hood to this Commemorative Edition Corvette Z06.

Back in 2004, Chevrolet rolled out the Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition, which was created to celebrate the company’s success at LeMans over the years. This package included a paint scheme based on the race team’s livery, unique polished wheels, a carbon fiber hood and special badges inside and out. Only 2,025 examples of the Commemorative Edition package was offered across the entire Corvette lineup in 2004 and in addition to the unique features, these 2004 Z06s came fully loaded.

The 2004 C5 Commemorative Edition is an attractive collectable in stock form, but if you would like one of these limited edition sports cars that can shine a bit brighter on the track, look no further. Corvette Forum member “Z06485RWHP” posted his 2004 Corvette Z06 CE for sale, but this isn’t your average C5, as this one has been built by the folks at Lingenfelter, with a supercharger and a fully-built engine delivering 485 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.

If this 2004 Corvette Z06 was sitting at your local Cars and Coffee with the hood closed, you might mistake it for a stock car. However, when you flip open the hood, it quickly becomes clear that this C5 is not stock, as the bright polished supercharger is impossible to ignore, but that is only the tip of the iceberg.

The entire engine was built by the folks at Lingenfelter Performance, so not only does it offer far more performance than a stock C5 Z06, it has all of the internet bits to offer the extra power reliably, far into the future. Literally every aspect of the LS6 engine has been improved upon during the build process, so rather than list everything, we have included a portion of the build sheet from Lingenfelter.

In stock form, the C5 Corvette Z06 offered 405 horsepower at the crankshaft, but with the supercharger build, output at the wheels is 485 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque, so this Chevy sports car packs far more power than it did when stock. Also, the standard carbon fiber has been replaced by a fiberglass unit with a raised center section that makes room for the supercharger, but the factory hood is included with the purchase.

A Piece of History, Supercharged

In standard form, the 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition is a rare piece of Chevy history, recognizing racing success in the form of a terrific performance car. When you add the Lingenfelter engine package, this historic car becomes a whole lot more fun to drive while also being far more capable on any track, be it a drag strip or road course.

Corvette Z06 CE

If you are in the market for a C5 that you can use for local car shows and cruises, a Commemorative Edition will stand out more than a standard Z06, but with the addition of the Lingenfetler supercharger package, this is a Corvette that will draw plenty of attention in motion and when parked.

Of course, a car like this doesn’t come cheap, and it is current listed for $30,000. According to Kelley Blue Book, a clean 2004 Corvette Z06 CE is has a private party value of roughly $21,000, but that doesn’t include the Lingenfelter engine build or all of the extra power. In other words, you might be able to find a Commemorative Edition C5 Z06 for less, but it isn’t likely to be this clean or this powerful.
