Latest C8 Corvette Spy Shots Show New Details Ahead of July 18 Reveal

Last minute Nurburgring test session shows C8 Corvette being driven aggressively, catching air on track.

We are just over a week away from the official reveal of the all-new, mid-engine 2020 C8 Corvette. It’s been a long time coming, and the Corvette team knows that they need to deliver a truly world-beating super car. So, it should come as no surprise that testing on the infamous Nurburgring circuit is part of the required validation testing of a modern super car.

These latest spy shots of the C8 Corvette show off some finalized details and what we should expect to see on July 18. In particular, we spy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires getting a work out on track. We particularly like the shot of the C8 lifting a wheel exiting the Karussell corner at full blast.

Additionally, the front and rear fascia designs are clearly exposed, as is the aggressive flare of the rear quarter panel. The openings on which likely help feed air into the mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged powertrain. We spy large oil coolers on either side of the front fascia openings,  which is promising for a high-performance super car. The rear bumper, likewise, is heavily vented, which should help aerodynamics, as well as evacuating heat from the engine compartment.

The snowflake-style, multi-spoke wheels return here, though, notably, they accentuate how wide the C8 is. There is a lot of room for wide wheels and tires under those fenders.

The scalloped and heavily sculpted bodywork matches everything we have seen thus far, from sketches, and other spy shots, but it leads into the rear wing element, which appears to have gone through several revisions to this finalized shape.

Speaking of the C8 and its rear end, rectangular tail pipes, two on each side, match the, seemingly, rectangular tail light elements. For those who derided the C7 for it’s angular tail lights, the C8 is likely to continue polarizing them.

That’s it as we see, for now. Of course, we will be at the live reveal on July 18, covering everything about the C8 Corvette, as it is revealed to the world. Stay tuned to Corvette Forum for the latest info on the C8.
