Low-mileage masterpiece comes in an unusual color, with a flawless interior to match.

Unlike the valuable early cars or the latest, greatest, and fastest C7s, C3 Corvettes — especially late C3 Corvettes — don’t get nearly the love they deserve. While a new generation of enthusiasts has begun to appreciate the C4, C5, and C6 cars for the tremendous performance value they offer at any budget, most of this crowd has ignored the C3 as well.

That’s a real shame. While the later C3 Corvettes may be lacking in performance, they kept the Corvette dream alive through some truly dark times. They’re fun to drive, beautiful to look at, and, being powered by the venerable Chevrolet small-block V8, adding performance is easy.

This 1982 Corvette on Bring a Trailer is a fine example of a last-year C3. While it’s not one of the beige-gold Collector’s Edition cars available that year, it looks stunning in its unusual, subdued shade of silver green.

With just 40,000 miles, this is one of the nicest late C3s we’ve ever seen for sale, and the unassuming, yet unusual color makes it even more attractive to us. Best of all, the interior matches the silver green exterior – and it;s just as pristine.

With several thousand dollars’ worth of recent work, this C3 Corvette seems poised and ready for anything, from the occasional car show to a cross-country road trip. The only thing we don’t like is that the original purchaser didn’t opt for hinged rear glass, which was a useful and practical option in 1982, and came standard on all Collector’s Edition cars.

On second thought, with a car like this, we can’t see ourselves using it for grocery runs, it’s just too nice. We also would likely leave the drivetrain alone and just enjoy the car in its stock form. Even with just 200 horsepower, it’s still a Corvette, after all.
