Kansas Throws One of the Best Damn Corvette Shows Out There

VBP ‘Vette Club in Topeka recently had their annual show with some truly epic Corvettes strutting their stuff. 

Sometimes the best automotive events are those a bit off the beaten path. This was certainly a busy Corvette summer; with one very big C8 reveal, and a number of big car shows. But recently we found that one of the hottest places to be for Corvette fans was in Topeka, Kansas.

The VBP Vettes Club had their Second Annual Corvette Show, and it was a smash. Which is definitely an impressive feat for only its second outing. Corvette fans from all over headed to Topeka to show off custom ‘Vettes, classic rides, and some rare and gorgeous rides.

There were First, Second, and Third Place awards given for each class entered. And, of course, the coveted Best in Show. This year’s recipient went to this new school 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport that was itself a tribute to the 1963 Grand Sport racer. It was well deserved win for a ‘Vette tribute ride executed with remarkable precision and passion.

There was no lack of creativity at this show. Mods, swaps, builds, and artwork were all on display. Additional awards went out to Best Hood Art.

Of course much attention was paid to performance and driveability, as winners were awarded for Best Engine Bay, Most Miles Traveled, and more.

But the true fun was seeing a varied lot of incredible Corvettes; chrome, V8 engines, and carbon fiber all sparking in the sun. There were fresh and clean new cars, some rare rides, as well as classic Corvettes that remain pieces of true automotive art.

Most of the cars are driven by and shown by pure Corvette fans, which gives the show a lot of heart. As well as some killer rides to check out, and these aren’t a group of show-only garage queens, many hit the roads daily. Hey, if you own a Corvette, you’ve got a lot to love when you’re behind the wheel.

This is a great show to keep an eye on, with an impressive selection of cars and owners. We’d recommend following the Corvette Club of Kansas City to keep you in the know. And if you are in the area, this is a Corvette Club you should definitely check out, a lot of very fun and very cool events.
