Smooth early Corvette bucks typical SEMA trends with super tasteful styling inside and out.

Corvette fans attending SEMA 2019 undoubtedly have more than their fair share of eye candy to take in. So far, we here at Corvette Forum have been blown away by the quality of builds we’ve seen on display, which is no surprise, really. We’ve come to expect nothing but the best, year in and year out, of what the aftermarket has to offer. And that certainly includes this drop dead gorgeous C1 Corvette we spotted inside the Mother’s Polishes display.

The slick black C1 has been re-imagined with modern components, of course, as all restomods are. But the vision behind this particular Corvette is what really struck us. While some builds go a little too far, this one retains the early car’s character perfectly. Most of the original trim remains intact, still chrome-plated as it should be. After all, why try and fix what ain’t broke?

And sure, this C1 has larger wheels and tires. But they’re beautifully styled retro pieces, not some sort of modern design. Thus, they look like they belong rather than sticking out like a sore thumb. And that nicely blended theme of (mostly) old and (somewhat) new bleeds into the interior as well. Upgraded red leather covers everything, including a new steering wheel and slightly modernized seats.

The engine bay, to be frank, might be the cleanest we’ve ever seen. With eight neat stacks up top and nary a piece of dust in sight, it’s incredibly sanitary and tasteful. And like the rest of the car, it features a nice blend of parts in either black or chrome/polished metal, and that’s it. No crazy stuff going on in here to detract from the overall build.

Yes, this C1 Corvette might just be the most tasteful thing you’ll ever see at SEMA. But we’re obviously still on the hunt for more. So stay tuned, because we’ll be coming to you live from Las Vegas all week!
