If you didn’t want a C6 ZR1 before, you’ll definitely want one now.
The C6 ZR1 has proven to be a no-nonsense powerhouse since its inception, and release onto the market. Its objective from the beginning has been very clear: dominate on the streets and be faster than everybody else on the track. Thanks to its bespoke LS9 6.2L supercharged V8, it did this with little effort, making an easy 638 horsepower and 600 ft/lbs of torque to the crank from the factory. With carbon-fiber molding reducing the weight of every body panel on and the clear polycarbonate hood cut out, the ZR1 performed amazing and had a hell of a presence on the track and the street.
The talk of the town might be the new 2019 ZR1 right now and we understand why. It’s probably the best driving and most focused performance Corvette ever. But we won’t forget about that C6 ZR1 so easily. RaceProvenMotorsports‘ YouTube channel reminds us why its such a badass vehicle with bringing in a customer’s car onto the dyno to see what kind of power it can put down.
For those not in the know, RaceProvenMotorsports makes a host of modifications and performance packages for a variety of Chevy products and cars and have done so for many years, so you know they know their stuff.

At the beginning of the video we can see them dyno-testing two new Camaro ZL1’s, one 2018 model year and one 2019 model year. These cars are no joke, throwing down 545 WHP and 566 WHP respectively, stock. They also featured a 2008 C6 Z06 with their own Stage 3 package throwing down a ridiculous 808 WHP. That power figure got us pretty excited for they are going to do with the ZR1.

According to the video, this ZR1 has a whole list of mods, including catless headers, several intake mods, including a ported blower and cold air intake, an upgraded 102mm throttle body, a heat exchanger, injectors and methanol injection with e85, just to name a few. After a couple of pulls on the dyno, the ZR1 made a crazy 763 WHP and 750 WTQ, just about 200 WHP over the baseline. Those are solid numbers running around 19 psi over the stock 10 psi. With the prices of C6 ZR1’s dropping steadily, there has never been a better time to pick one up and make big power easily.
