Dubai is famous for its exotic police cars and luxurious amenities, which now include this emergency Corvette.

Dubai is well known around the world for having the coolest police car fleet you’ll ever lay eyes on. But that’s how they do it in the desert. Cars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Bugattis, and Corvettes are ready and willing to track down those who dare break strict speeding laws, which is quite common in a part of the world filled with exotic supercars owned by absurdly wealthy folks. But now, Zulekha Hospital and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services aim to give the boys in blue a run for their money with this Corvette ambulance.

Yes, we said Corvette ambulance.

Redefining the term “first responder,” this isn’t your father’s big, boxy, slow hospital transport. But as you might imagine, the Corvette isn’t really going to be out there apexing corners and flying down the freeway with accident victims in the passenger seat. Rather, it’s more of a quick first responder that aims to reach patients faster than a traditional ambulance. And we imagine it’ll look good doing it, too.

Of course, PR is a big part of why Dubai chooses to employ such exotic machinery in its public sector. This Corvette will also participate in parades and sit proudly on display in high traffic tourist areas. But at the same time, it seems like it could be quite useful as well. Oftentimes, minutes can be the difference between life and death. So if one or two EMTs can reach a victim and help treat them quicker, this Corvette could most certainly help save lives.

But at the end of the day, Dubai is a place famous for being a little over-the-top. With insanely luxurious hotels and spas along with super high-end shopping, local hospitals certainly can’t be caught tooling around in the same ambulances the rest of the world uses. No, if you’re going to suffer a heart attack, you expect to be treated like the royalty that you are. And thanks to this specially-outfitted Corvette, you won’t have to wait too long for help to arrive, either.
