Two-owner Collector Edition Corvette ‘is in excellent condition,’ has 62,000 original miles on the odometer.
While it’s not every day you’ll happen upon a Corvette beyond these pages, there are some Corvettes that are rarer than others. And since this happens to be that time of year to drop a shiny red bow on a Corvette, you’re probably paging through the DuPont Registry or Hemmings to find that rarity.
Did you know you might find that rarity in our CorvetteForum Classifieds, though? Well, now you do, because we happened upon this special Corvette that should be on your wishlist.
“We are going to moving soon and I will be losing my outbuilding,” says forum member spencerkechi. “Because this is one of my toy cars and probably the least practical one I own, I thought I would try to sell it instead of bringing it along and trying to find storage for it.”While we’re not sure what the “EX CON” bit is all about, we do know this 1996 Corvette happens to be one of 5,000 Collector Edition Corvettes built to close-out the C4 era.
Under the hood, of course, is the 5.7-liter LT4 V8, which made 330 horses and 340 lb-ft of torque back in its day. The ponies go through a ZF six-speed manual to push the ‘Vette from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, on its way to a quarter-mile time of 13.3 seconds at 107.6 mph, about as fast as the C4 ZR-1.
Wrapped in Sebring Silver, this Corvette Collector Edition has nice black leather seats, both providing excellent views of the road ahead of the long hood. You can practically feel the aftermarket exhaust rumbling underneath, while the AM/FM radio and CD player will fill the cabin with your favorite late Nineties hits.
The seller is the second owner of the Corvette Collector Edition, the first having owned the car for 21 years. We hope the third owner gets as much out of this special Corvette as the first two.
