Corvette Z06 for Sale is a Mean Green Machine with Supercharged Power

2008 Supercharged Corvette Z06

We’ve seen some eyesores in our time, but this one has a big supercharged redeeming feature under the hood making 650 horsepower.

If you asked us what we would do with a 2008 Corvette Z06 if we had a blank check to spend on it, it would not involve painting it in lurid green before carrying on with that color onto the wheels and into the interior. Unfortunately, those are decisions that were made on this car before it came and went recently on eBay for $55,000. Mix that with the shoddy bodywork and the use of a color described as “anti-freeze green,” and you have something we wouldn’t touch. That is until we realized what’s under the hood.

A stock C6 Z06 makes 505 horsepower from the LS7 before you mess with it and, from experience, we know that you need to be on your A-game when getting enthusiastic behind the wheel. As well-balanced as the C6 Z06 is, it only weighs 3,132 lbs and does 0-60 mph in a shade under 4 seconds. According to the guy who sold this green monstrosity, the LS7 in it has been supercharged and now makes over 650 horsepower. That sounds about right, but that’s also the kind of power the new C7 Corvette ZR1 is making.

We know from experience that 10 years and a lot of development later, that the ZR1 can contain that kind of power but it’s still not for the unskilled to unleash. For that reason, we’re borderline on whether this car is going to be terrifying or hilarious to drive. It’s certainly a prime candidate to end up backwards and in a tree, something our editor Jake Stumph thinks would be an aesthetic improvement but, with some judicious use of the right foot, it’ll certainly be a frenetic and exhilarating drive. As long as it’s on a warm road with a set semi-slick tires wrapped around the wheels.

As much as we may mock the… unfortunate… color scheme and aesthetic choices made here, the fundamentals are all in place for a killer ride. While the Loma GT2 widebody kit isn’t to our taste, it means this C6Z can fit enough wheel and tire to put all of that supercharged power to the ground. In fact, after some new wheels, a ride height adjustment and some fresh interior pieces, preferably in black, this could be awesome.
