C8 Corvette Steering Wheel

Chevrolet media website speaks about the design of every Corvette generation’s steering wheel, including the new C8.

Chevrolet is getting antsy about showcasing it’s all-new C8 Corvette, just days ahead of it’s official reveal on July 18 in Irvine, California. That much is apparent because, today, the Chevrolet media website, which usually is filled with press releases, has instead been filled with images. They are images of Corvette steering wheels, from C1 to, you guessed it, C8.

This is the C8 Corvette’s steering wheel, no jokes, no camouflage. And, as expected, our forums are buzzing about it.

Key details include the flat bottom-styled rim, which is clad in alcantara, or microsuede, in GM parlance. The shape of the steering wheel is not unlike what one would find in a contemporary mid-engine super car, like, say, a Ferrari 488, for example. From there, we spy cruise control-related buttons on the left and radio and infotainment screen controls on the right. Centrally-located is the leather-wrapped airbag and horn assembly. Behind all of that are shift paddles, presumably for the forthcoming dual clutch automatic transmission. A manual transmission has not been confirmed nor denied.

More news as we have it, as Corvette Forum will be at the July 18 reveal event. Stay tuned.
