Aircraft-inspired Z06 Corvette is undeniably cool. But we’ve got lots of questions about the seller’s claims.

The influence of aircraft in automotive design has existed for decades. Giant fins, sleek design, instrumentation, and even model names lifted from actual airplanes are some of the many integrations we’ve seen over the years. But some folks choose to take the aircraft theme to extreme levels. Much like the builder of this “Jet Corvette,” which we spotted on Craigslist.

At first, it might seem a little silly to take a C7 Z06 and cover it in a wrap that makes it look like something you’d see on an Air Force runway. But the look, well, works. And according to the owner, that cool looking wrap covers some upgraded body panels, too. “Every ground effect/panel you see on exterior of car is carbon fiber including full custom diffuser, spoiler, splats, roof, hood, etc.”

Other than that, well, this is nothing more than a stock C7 Z06 Corvette. Which makes the claimed build cost of $139,000 (not including the carbon parts) kinda hard to swallow. $139k for a wrap job? You probably should’ve shopped around there, pal. Other red flags include the fact that the seller has inserted lots of typical lingo in the ad. Like “testing the waters,” and our favorite, “don’t need to sell.”

Even better, the seller isn’t trying to sell his Corvette outright. He wants to trade it for a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or McLaren. Which sounds like a pretty ambitious plan for something that costs around $80k new. But hey, if it works, maybe we’ll wrap our base ‘Vette and try to trade it for a ZR1. As they say, there’s a sucker born every minute!
