C7 Z06 by Vengeance Racing Makes Big Horsepower with a Magnuson

C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has a Magnuson TVS2650R, ported heads, a cam and basic upgrades.

The C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is an awesome machine in stock form, with the supercharged LT4 delivering 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. However, as many owners have found out, changing some of the key engine components can lead to far greater power levels, and as “David@Vengeance” shared in the C7 Forced Induction/Nitrous section, swapping to a Magnuson supercharger and upgrading some key engine bits can quickly push the power level at the wheels into the four-figure range.

Magnuson C7 Z06 Build

When the OP, who is also a long-time sponsor of the forum and a representative of one of the most respected modern GM performance shops in the world, first introduced the results of this C7 Z06 Magnuson build to the forum, he includes the full details of the build, a dyno sheet and a quick review of the results.

We recently had the opportunity to install one of Magnuson Superchargers first TVS2650R supercharger upgrade kits for the LT4 engine on our customer’s 2016 Corvette Z06. The customer had contacted us several months back looking to do a basic Stage 4 package with us using the stock supercharger, but after many calls and e-mails back and forth we had landed on also upgrading to the newest supercharger offering along with supporting fuel components to really make some power out of the LT4 engine. The car arrived to us in 100% stock form, and our technician started diving into the build process immediately. The new 2650R came with a lot of hype and anyone who’s been following the development on these kits know that it’s been a long awaited item with high expectations on performance, which were most certainly met on our chassis dyno!

The combination for the build is as follows:

This particular combination was setup on fueling based on a power goal in the 900rwhp arena on pump E85, however our goals were blown out of the water once the car hit the dyno earlier this week. The final results landed at an extremely impressive 889rwhp/824rwtq on 93 pump gas, and 1,000rwhp/916rwtq on E85 at just 17psi on boost. The torque curve is extremely flat with this supercharger and combination from the car in general, and with a drag radial on the car will make for a menacing setup on both the street and track. Needless to say, if you have a C7 Corvette Z06 and you have been considering a swap to the new Magnuson TVS2650R supercharger, this numbers are very promising, especially when it is combined with the other upgrades listed above.

Nearly Double the Stock Power

Keep in mind that the stock figure of 650 horsepower is at the crankshaft and the figures mentioned by David of 889 horsepower on pump gas and 1000 horsepower on E85 are measured at the wheels. A stock C7 Z06 makes around 570 horsepower at the wheels, with reports online ranging from 550 to 580 wheel horsepower with all sorts of variables.

Considering those stock numbers, the E85 tune from Vengeance with the Magnuson TVS2650R added at least 400 wheel horsepower, possibly closer to 450 while the 93 octane pump gas tune added more than 300 horsepower. Best of all, the power curve is nice and flat, so when the owner of the Corvette Z06 discussed in the thread puts the hammer down, his or her C7 surely pulls hard through every gear.
